Refund and Returns Policy

One-of-a-Kind Wood Products

Most wood items sold by McDugal’s WoodWorks are handcrafted and one of a kind. Unless a product listing specifically states otherwise, the item shown in the photographs is the exact item you will receive.

I make every reasonable effort to photograph and describe each item accurately. However, colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen, lighting, and display settings. Natural differences in wood grain, color, figure, knots, and other character are part of what makes each piece unique and are not considered defects.

All Sales Are Final

Because of the unique nature of these products, all sales are final. McDugal’s WoodWorks does not normally accept returns, exchanges, or refund requests based on:

  • A change of mind
  • Personal preference
  • Differences in wood grain or natural character
  • Minor differences in color caused by lighting or screen settings
  • Normal wear from use

Please review the product photographs, description, dimensions, and care instructions carefully before purchasing.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

Every item is inspected before it is packaged and shipped.

If your order arrives damaged, contains the wrong item, or has a material or workmanship problem that was present when it arrived, please contact me within 7 days of delivery.

Please include:

  • Your name and order number
  • A description of the problem
  • Clear photographs of the item
  • Photographs of the packaging and shipping box if the item was damaged during shipment

Please keep the item and all original packaging until the issue has been reviewed. Do not return an item without contacting me first.

Because each item is unique, an exact replacement may not always be available. Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate resolution may include repair, replacement with a comparable item, store credit, or a refund.

Natural Wood and Product Care

Wood is a natural material that responds to changes in moisture and its surrounding environment. Proper handling and storage help prevent shrinking, swelling, checking, cracking, warping, and finish damage.

Damage caused by improper use, care, or storage is not considered a product defect. This includes damage caused by:

  • Dishwashers or prolonged soaking
  • Extended exposure to water or moisture
  • Extreme heat or cold
  • Leaving an item inside a hot or freezing vehicle
  • Direct exposure to heaters or similar heat sources
  • Impacts, drops, misuse, or accidental damage
  • Failure to follow care instructions
  • Normal wear and finish changes from regular use

Unless the product description specifically says otherwise, wooden kitchenware should be hand-washed, dried promptly, and never placed in a dishwasher.

Pens and other wooden items should be kept dry and stored under normal indoor conditions. A wooden pen spending the afternoon in a freezing fishing-coat pocket is, regrettably, outside the reasonable control of the woodturner.

If You Are Unhappy With Your Purchase

Even though I do not offer general returns or satisfaction-guaranteed refunds, I want customers to be happy with what they purchased.

If you are unhappy with an item for a reason not specifically covered above, please contact me promptly. I will listen to the concern and make a reasonable effort to find a fair solution where possible.

Any accommodation in these circumstances will be considered individually and does not guarantee a return, exchange, replacement, or refund.

Authorized Returns and Refunds

Returns will only be accepted with prior written approval from McDugal’s WoodWorks.

When a return is authorized because of an incorrect item, shipping damage, or a verified issue present at delivery, return instructions and shipping arrangements will be provided.

Any approved refund will be issued to the original payment method after the item has been received or the claim has otherwise been resolved. Processing time by the customer’s bank or payment provider may vary.
